Dry Skin or Dehydrated Skin? Learn to differentiate them

¿Piel Seca o Piel Deshidratada? Aprende a diferenciarlas

It's very common to confuse them, but the key is that one is a skin type (genetic) and the other is a temporary condition (caused by external factors). Here's how to do a "self-diagnosis":

1. Dry Skin (Lack of Oil)

It's your natural skin type, like having brown eyes or being tall. Your pores are usually very small, and your skin produces less sebum than normal.

  • How it feels: Rough to the touch, tight all day, and prone to flaking.

  • Visual signs: Dullness, lack of natural glow, and almost invisible pores.

  • The litmus test: If you apply a light cream and after 10 minutes feel like you didn't put anything on, your skin is dry.

2. Dehydrated Skin (Lack of Water)

It's a condition that can happen to any skin type, even oily skin. It can be caused by weather, excessive caffeine, alcohol, or not drinking enough water.

  • How it feels: Tight but, curiously, can also appear shiny or oily at the same time. It's that feeling of a "tight face."

  • Visual signs: Small fine lines appear (dehydration lines) that disappear when you apply water. It looks congested or "sad."

  • The litmus test: If you gently pinch your cheek and small horizontal wrinkles appear that take a second to return to their place, your skin is dehydrated.

Fun fact: You can have oily and dehydrated skin at the same time! Your skin detects that it lacks water and, to compensate, produces excess oil. In this case, you need light hydration, not more oils.

Conclusion: Listen to your skin

Now that you know that hydration provides water and moisturization protects it, the secret is balance. It's not about choosing a side, but about learning to listen to what your face asks for every morning.

Remember: healthy skin is not perfect skin, but skin whose needs are met. If you start combining both steps today (serum for hydration + cream to seal), I promise you'll notice the difference in less than a week. Your natural "glow" will thank you!

1. Dehydrated Skin (Lack of water)

It's true that gel alone isn't enough; dehydrated skin needs layers of hydration to "quench its thirst."

  • Step 1 (Cleansing): The Cristagel Micelar is ideal because it cleanses without stripping water from your cells.

  • Step 2 (Treatment): This is where the Kompep10 Serum comes in. Serums have a higher concentration of active ingredients and a light texture that penetrates deeply, providing the water that dehydrated skin lacks.
  • Step 3 (Protection): The Teatonic helps maintain a balanced pH. Even though it's light, it acts as a "shield" so that the water you just applied with the serum doesn't evaporate.

2. Dry Skin (Lack of oil)

Dry skin also benefits from gel, but with one condition: it must be a nourishing or very gentle gel.

  • Step 1 (Cleansing): You can use the Cristagel Micelar, but it's vital that you don't leave your skin "naked" afterwards, as your skin doesn't produce the necessary oil to protect itself.

  • Step 2 (Nourishment): You need the Vitamin C Cream. For dry skin, cream is the most important step because it provides the lipids (oils) that act as the "cement" between your cells, preventing the skin from cracking or peeling.

  • Step 3 (Reinforcement): The Kompep10 Serum before the cream will help the skin be more elastic and soft, something dry skin often loses.
